Advanced Power Components says that first half investment will lead to flat interim profits.
The specialist electronic components supplier says that it will report profits of £210,000 in the six months to February 2008, compared with £208,000 in the same period the previous year. Turnover has increased from £4.3m to £4.7m. Management says that underlying operating margins have been maintained but it has spent additional money on marketing and operating systems.
Cost savings should reduce operating costs by 7.5% in the second half.
House broker Seymour Pierce was forecasting a full year profit of £800,000, against £510,000 last year.
APC is upbeat about its order book but it will have to do well to achieve that forecast.
The shares were unchanged at 23.5p.
