African Eagle Resources has received positive news about its acid leach tests on drill samples from its Dutwa nickel project in Tanzania.

Shares in African Eagle doubled to 2.25p each, which values the company at £4.78m.

Nickel recoveries are averaging 92%, with low levels of sulphuric acid use.

The resource estimate for Dutwa is 340,000 tonnes of contained nickel and 11,000 tonnes of cobalt.

African Eagle intends to commission a scoping study to assess the economic potential of the project.
