Aim-quoted Hargreaves Services is talking to Alkane Energy about methane gas extraction at its Monckton coke plant.
Hargreaves already has a power plant on the site, which produces more than 200,000 tonnes of high grade coke each year. Alkane’s core business is the extraction of coal bed methane.
At 19p, Alkane is valued at £17.5m. There has been no news about the informal talks with a potential bidder, which were revealed last October.
