SMC Group is changing its name to Archial Group.
The architecture and design company is beginning to show the benefits of the hard work management has put in to restructuring it in the past year. There is a strong order book worth £50m. Publicly funded work accounts for 38% of the order book, against 31% at the end of June 2008. Business outside of Europe has increased from 13% to 17% of the order book.
Nearly two-thirds of anticipated fee income for 2009 has already been secured.
A general meeting on 5 January will vote on the name change.
At 3.625p a share, Archial/SMC is valued at £8.63m.
