Competitions organiser Best of the Best says that first half trading was ahead of last year.

Most of the company’s revenues come from organising competitions to win luxury cars that are displayed in airport terminals. A ticket to enter costs £20 and the competition lasts four weeks.

The disruption of air travel in the summer of 2006 means that the comparative period was weak. New sites have been added in Birmingham Airport, Heathrow Terminal 2 and Nottingham East Midlands Airport.

Charles Stanley forecasts a rise in full year profits from £710,000 to £1.1m. The interim figures will be announced on 15 January.

The shares dipped 5p to 49.5p – equivalent to just over eight times forecast earnings.
