Smart metering company Bglobal has won a contract with Scottish & Southern Energy.
The business was won after a competitive tender and covers 24,000 of the Scottish utility’s largest customers in terms of their monthly bills. Bglobal will provide smart meters, remote data collection and energy management software to these customers.
Bglobal’s progress has been slower than hoped because of uncertainties about government policy but this contract shows it continues to move forward. Final details of government policy on smart metering are expected soon.
The shares rose 3.25p to 38.5p.
