Cantono has found a site for its first high density data centre.
The company raised £10.6m at 100p a share in July 2007. That money was earmarked for investing in new data centres. The shares rose 5p to 32.5p on the news of the first site in the south of England, valuing the company at £9.43m.
The data centre should be up and running by the end of this summer. Cantono has a 25 year lease on the 80,000 square feet centres. The centres power capacity will be 20MW. IBM is involved in the design of the data centre.
There is no indication of how much this will cost.
