Business and IT consultancy Charteris reported lower profits last year but that masks an improvement in the second half.
Charteris made £463,000 before amortisation and share based payments in the year to July 2007, down from £669,000 the year before. Turnover dipped from £20.1m to £19.3m. In the second half turnover was 11% higher than the corresponding period at £10.4m.
Charteris believes that the benefits from the refinement of its strategy will show through in the current financial year.
House broker Oriel forecasts profits of £900,000 on flat revenues this year. That should produce earnings per share of 1.5p, putting the shares on 11 times prospective earnings.
