Enterprise software supplier Chelford confirms that its start to the year is good and it should be on course for a much better year than last year.

Problems with fixed price contracts meant that the SAP business fell into loss in 2006 and it was a poor year overall for Chelford. The SAP business has returned to profit in the first half of 2007. Orders have started to pick up in the rest of the business after a weak first quarter. Chelford has always been dependent on business coming through late in the year but house broker Charles Stanley believes it is on course to meet the profit forecast of £1.7m for 2007, compared with £1m last year. This would also be higher than the £1.5m profit made in 2005.
