China Biodiesel International says that biodiesel shipments have started to rise since March.

Production at the Longyan plant has returned to the average levels achieved in 2008 and the Xiamen plant was recommenced production in April. However sales of 7,601 tons in the first four months of 2009 are still lower than the 8,010 tons sold in the same period of 2008. The biodiesel is a substitute for petrochemical materials.

Raw material prices are increasing but this has been passed on to customers. Management is trying to maintain margins.

The share price recovered 0.625p to 5.875p, which values the biodiesel producer at £2.67m.
