Clean Air Power Ltd says that its US Genesis-EDGE Dual-Fuel test engine has met all of the emission requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency in the US.

The tests were undertaken at the company’s facilities in Leyland in the UK. This is a step towards EPA certification but there are further hurdles to come. The test engine will be moved to the US so Ricardo Inc can undertake independent testing. The two tests will form the basis of the certification application to the EPA.

The Genesis-EDGE Dual-Fuel engine is on course to launch before the end of this year, if the certification is obtained in the expected timescale.

The Dual-Fuel technology is also undergoing the approval process in Russia.

Panmure Gordon expects the loss to more than double to £4.1m in 2014 and then halve again to £2m in 2015 as revenues grow from £10m to £16m.

At 5.88p a share, Clean Air Power is valued at £13.6m.
