MXC Capital has withdrawn its general meeting requisition at internet telephony services provider Coms following the resignation of former chief executive Richard Bennett.

Bennett was originally staying on as an executive director. He was going to be responsible for corporate development and acquisitions.

David Brieth has been appointed as chief executive of Coms following his purchase of a 25.4% stake. He subscribed for most of his Coms shares at 0.375p each and some others at 0.5p each. The total investment is £328,000 and the shares are currently worth twice that amount.

The share price has nearly doubled to 0.78p since the beginning of the year. Coms is valued at £2.49m.
