Scratchcard games organiser and database compiler DM Group prospered in the first half, partly thanks to the acquisition of a rival from Invox.

The controversy over TV phone in games didn’t help the overall perception of the games market so the core business was quite slow according chairman and chief executive Adrian Williams.

Even so, turnover rose 37% to £9.87m in the six months to June 2007. Profits were 31% higher at £2.05m. A maiden interim of 0.1p a share is due to be paid in October. The integration of last year’s acquisition has been completed.

Williams still owns 80% of the company – down from 95%. This will be diluted by further acquisitions. These could be competitors - or ex-competitors - databases or businesses with games and products that would interest its current customer base.
