Educational and sports information publisher Electric Word says that its full year profits will be in line with expectations.

The profit figure is before restructuring costs for the loss-making MyChild business of £298,000. This restructuring led to the closure of the print magazine and the concentration of effort on its website. It should enable it to become profitable this year.

Group sales will be slightly ahead of expectations in the year to November 2008.

The professional education business performed particularly strongly and subscription revenues showed strong growth in the sports business.

Electric Word intends to expand its online advertising operations during this year.

The full year figures will be published on 17 February.

At 2.875p a share, the company is valued at three times 2007-08 earnings. Electric Word’s market capitalisation is £4.15m.
