Broker Fiske improved its profit from £435,000 to £573,000 in the year to May 2011.

Revenues grew from £3.28m to £3.47m but the second half was not as strong as the first half. There was a small reduction in overheads last year, even though regulatory expenses have increased to more than 10% of the total.

Higher working capital, due to an increase in debtors, meant that there was a cash outflow for the year. Cash reduced from £4.8m to £3.46m at the end of May 2011.

The total dividend for the year has been maintained at 4p a share.

Fiske remains cautious about the market.
