Gladstone has successfully fought off an attempt by 29.9% shareholder Constellation Software Inc to gain a seat on its board.
Constellations president Mark Leonard failed to gain enough support for him to become a director of the membership software supplier. The news came after the market closed.
There was no indication of how close the voting was.
It is unclear whether the fact that Constellation succeeded in blocking some of the AGM votes served to galvanise other shareholders to vote in the EGM.
At 20.25p a share, Gladstone is valued at £9.78m.
