Global Brands, the Switzerland franchisee of Domino’s Pizza, grew strongly in the first half but the growth rate slowed during the period.
Total sales of company owned and franchised stores were 15% higher at CHF7.7m in the six months to June 2011. However, that does represent a slowing of the rate of growth in the first and second quarters. Global Brands blames the hot weather in the second quarter, particularly in May. Internet sales were 23.7% of the total in the second quarter.
Management hopes that trading will improve in the autumn/winter. The three Pizza Taxi stores are being converted into the Domino’s format.
At 2.38p a share, down 0.38p, Global Brands is valued at £4.85m.
