Almorah Services has received acceptances for its 1p a share mandatory bid for film producer Handmade that takes it beyond the 90% mark.

Acceptances total 40.32% of the share capital of Handmade and Almorah has bought a further 14.29% since the end of April. This takes its holding to 94.3%. Almorah intends to cancel the Aim quotation and re-register Handmade as a private company.

Handmade remains in dispute with National Geographic, which wants to take full ownership of its children’s entertainment joint venture with Handmade.

Shares in Handmade were suspended on 7 January 2010 at 9.5p each.
