Intercede expects to report a lower loss for the year to March 2008.

The smart card and identity management software supplier says that there is a high level of interest in its MyID software. It is working on 10 major projects at the moment. MyID software can be used to manage secure registration and issue digital identities.

Costs have been kept under control and the operating loss for 2007-08 should be lower than the £300,000 reported last year. Revenues increased from £2.6m to £2.8m.

There was cash in the bank of £1.15m at the end of March.

The shares rose 3p to 34.5p on the trading statement. They are still trading at little more than one-third of their 2001 flotation price.

The results will be reported in early June.
