LPA Group has won a £600,000 contract from Siemens to supply LED lighting for Warsaw Metro trains.

This contract will start in the spring and continue into 2013. LPA had previously supplied LED lighting to Siemens for the Heathrow Express. There is the potential to win a contract for the Munich Metro but there is competition from a Finland-based supplier.

According to XCAP Securities LED contributed £2.4m of group revenues of £17.3m in the year to September 2011 but it is likely to contribute a bigger percentage of operating profit of £434,000. LED’s contribution will continue to grow in importance.

XCAP forecasts a pre-tax profit of £500,000 on revenues of £18m in 2011-12.

At 48.5p a share, LPA is valued at £5.63m. The shares are trading on 13 times prospective 2011-12 earnings.
