Bricks manufacturer Michelmersh Brick is buying 25% of Jeffery Building Products.

The brick distributor will give Michelmersh a stronger presence in the north of England, where sales have been limited.

Michelmersh will pay £50,000 for the stake in the form of 125,000 shares issued at 40p each.

Michelmersh’s first quarter orders and sales for 2011 are ahead of budget.

The 2010 figures will be published on 9 May.

At 27.5p a share, up 3p, Michelmersh is valued at £16m.
