Motive Television has completed the technical feasibility analysis for TV Anytime Anywhere to be used for tablet devices.

Technical development will be started by the joint venture with Granite Broadcasting Corp in June. Commercial launch could be next spring. Other broadcasters may want to become involved,

The TV Anytime Anywhere technology uses spare capacity on the channels transmitting to TV set top boxes to transmit other programming and enable the viewers to watch it when they want to. The technology has been extended to include 3D TV. Motive TV has also launched Video2Go which enables the loading of TV programmes and films to laptops and mobile devices.

Pre-launch testing of TV Anytime Anywhere technology has begun at Digiturk, the Turkish satellite broadcaster. This will be the first time that TV Anytime will be launched via satellite and the development has taken 18 months.

Motive TV increased its revenues from continuing operations from £1.34m to £2.02m in 2011 and they were split equally between the remaining TV production business in Ireland and the TV Anytime technology. The loss was flat at £2.54m and a high proportion of additional cost will vary with the addition of new business.

There was £558,000 in the bank at the end of 2011. Earlier this year MTV raised £550,000 at 0.15p a share. New and existing investors took up the shares. The TV production business is non-core and is likely to be sold at some point.

Discussions continue with the minority shareholder in the subsidiary that developed the TV Anytime Anywhere technology. The 32.3% shareholder in Motive Television SL says that it will not exercise the put option to sell the stake to Motive TV before the end of May. Motive TV has a call option over the stake.

At 0.95p a share, Motive TV is valued at £2.97m.
