Motive Television says that it is in advanced talks with Shine Group over the sale of its Brown Eyed Boy TV production subsidiary.

The disposal is likely to require shareholder approval. Motive TV is selling its TV production operations so that it can concentrate on its digital terrestrial television technology business.

Brown Eyed Boy is the producer of BBC3 comedy How Not To Live Your Life.

Shine Group is run by Elizabeth Murdoch. Its programmes include MasterChef, Merlin, Spooks and Ashes to Ashes.

Another Motive TV production company, 50.6%-owned Scarlet Television, is in administration after it overspent on the Delia Smith series Delia Through The Decades.

At 0.7p a share, Motive TV is valued at £3.97m.
