Plant Impact, which develops technology to improve crop yields, raised £1.5m gross from a placing at 47p a share.

The shares were placed with high profile fund managers and investment companies.

Gartmore (8.24%), AXA (7.32%) and Majedie Investments (6.82%) all increased their shareholdings. Gartmore more than doubled its shareholding. Blackrock Investment Management and Alliance Cornhill both moved above 3%. They have stakes of 4.32% and 3.23% respectively.

Plant Impact raised £3.85m gross at 38p a share when it joined Aim on 16 October 2006. The shares are trading at 49.5p.
