Samedaybooks has decided not to buy the assets of Country Bookshop.

However, it is still in talks to acquire AuctionAssist and the period of exclusivity has been extended from 31 August to 30 September. Charles Denton, who owns 67.5% of Samedaybooks, has a 15.6% stake in AuctionAssist, which provides internet auction services. A shareholder circular is being prepared.

The shares have dipped below their recent high of 6.875p but, at 4.75p, they are still well above this year’s low of 0.125p.
