Sport Media Group has appointed BDO as its administrator.

BDO will try to find a buyer for the Sunday and Daily Sport assets and the company’s other interests, including Netcollex and Telecom 2 – neither of which is in administration.

There was limited interest in the newspaper assets from buyers or new investors and Sport Media ran out of money so its newspaper subsidiaries ceased trading.

The Sunday and Daily Sport publisher was valued at £1.08m at the suspension price of 1.07p.
