Strategic Thought says that a major contract will be delayed and this will leave its results significantly below expectations.

Shares in the risk management software developer dived 5p to 35.5p each, which values the company at £9.34m.

Strategic Thought is still negotiating the contract and the deal will not be completed by the end of the year to March 2009.

The general economic conditions are affecting buying patterns for software.

The year end cash will be between £1.3m and £1.5m. The cash balance was £2.8m at the end of September 2008

Continuing revenues grew by 58% to £4.89m in the six months to September 2008. At that time the loss-making company was more positive about its prospects.
