Surgical instruments manufacturer Surgical Innovations says that trading is in line with expectations and it is continuing with the FDA approval process in the US for its LogiFlex product.

LogiFlex is a flexible laproscopic device which combines disposabel and reusable elements.

A new distributor has been appointed in Ireland and the Italian distributor’s contract has been extended for three years. Other contract extensions are expected.

Surgical Innovations has delivered a delayed industrial order worth £616,000. This shows that the company’s expertise can be used in other areas. A second industrial project is underway and a prototype delivered.

There is also a potential new project in the original equipment manufacturing business. Plastic injection moulding will be brought in-house later this year.

There was no news about the autologous blood transfusion business, which is up for sale

At 3.4p a share, Surgical Innovations is valued at £12.7m.
