Chinese traditional medicines supplier Taihua says this year’s forsythia harvest was unusually low because of poor weather but production commenced at a new plantation.

Forsythia revenues increased from RMB27.2m to RMB43.3m but total sales of traditional Chinese medicines declined from RMB6.6m to RMB5.7m because distributors are holding back on taking on new products because the Chinese government is trying to increase standards in the pharma sector. .

Paclitaxel sales were RMB3.5m and homoharringtonine sales fell because the Chinese government has not provided reaccreditation to many injectable manufacturers.

At 3.25p a share, Taihua is valued at £2.66m.
