Technology and intellectual property services provider Tekcapital has raised £2.44m at 35p a share.

The amount raised was at the upper end of the range indicated and the share price has subsequently risen to 40.5p. Nigel Wray bought more than 1 million of the shares and he owns 17.4% of Tekcapital, with founder Clifford Gross still owning 20.4%.
The cash raised will be used to acquire more intellectual property and expand its sales presence in Latin America.
Tekcapital has already gained licensing rights to a number of different patents, as well as launching medical device business Belluscura. There are plans to float off Belluscura, which raised a total of $2.175m last year, later this year. Tekcapital still owns 65% of Belluscura.
