Electronic components distributor Advanced Power Components says it has returned to profit at the interim stage.

Revenues have slipped from £6.8m to £6.5m, but a loss of £281,000 has been turned into a profit of £40,000 in the six months to February 2010. There was a foreign exchange loss of around £330,000 in the six months to February 2009. Since then APC has implemented a hedging strategy.

The interim figures will be published on 10 May.

APC has appointed Rob Smith as finance director. He was previously finance director of Densitron Technologies and Curidium Medica. Densitron is a supplier of electronic screens and information boards so Smith has some experience of the type of products that APC distributes.

At 10p a share, APC is valued at £2.44m.
