Shares in investment company All Asia Asset Capital Ltd got off to a strong start on their first day on Aim.

All Asia raised £3.29 million net at 3p a share, giving it a market capitalisation of £5.97 million. The share price ended the first day at 4p.

The investment strategy is to invest in a portfolio of companies with the majority of their business in south east Asia. The initial focus is Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Burma. The preferred sectors are agriculture, forestry and plantations, mining, natural resources, property and technology. All Asia intends to be a passive investor with minority stakes.

Robert Berkeley, who founded forex broker Vantage FX, is part time executive chairman and finance director. Chief executive Dr Sri Kurniawan was part of the senior management of AIM-quoted biometrics firm RCG Holdings, which has a mixed track record to say the least.
