Asia-focused investment company Alpha Returns Group has asked for trading in its shares to be suspended because it is on course to make a significant corporate transaction.

In September, 540,000 was raised via a placing and open offer at 0.15p a share, although only 12.6% of the open offer shares were taken up. In November, 500,000 was raised from Asian investors at the equivalent of 0.9p a share.

Alpha has had many guises. The company was formerly known as Shidu Capital and prior to that Digital Learning Marketplace and Intellego. The company completed a CVA earlier this year.

At the suspension price of 1.75p a share, Alpha is valued at 8.29m.
