Artisan (UK) is making progress in its property development interests but housebuilding remains tough.
Michael Stevens, Artisan’s chairman, believes that the business park developer and housebuilder should have a good year but he is concerned about the current state of the economy and the uncertainty surrounding the sub-prime sector.
Sales of commercial units were slow at the end of the summer but forward commercial sales have been better. A self storage site in Ipswich has been forward sold and construction will begin next spring. This will be an 80,000 square feet building.
Housebuilder Rippon Homes is based in the east Midlands. Visitor numbers to its sites are erratic.
