Best of the Best

Best of the Best reckons it can continue to prosper by giving its competitions a wider appeal to online players.

Last October, BAA terminated the contract that enabled Best of the Best to use sites in its terminals to run competitions to win cars. This is a large chunk of its business. Best of the Best has negotiated to retain the site at BAA’s Edinburgh airport but that is a relatively small revenue generator compared with the Heathrow terminals. There are sites at other airports but these do not have the same footfall.

Management knows that it can’t depend on its airport sites for the vast majority of its revenues any more. It hopes that new competitions and changed competition structures will help. These include instant win competitions for cameras, a bundle of Apple products, TVs or cash.

There is still £2.7m in the bank. At 21.5p a share, up 2p, Best of the Best is valued at £2.73m.

Trading is in line with expectations. Figures for the six months to October 2010 will be published on 14 February.
