Investment company Capital Ideas is buying part of Charterhouse Communications from its administrator.

Capital is buying Company REFS, Company Guide and The Corporate Register. It is paying £195,000 plus VAT of £34,125.

Shares in Charterhouse Communications were suspended on 21 February and KPMG was appointed administrator on 8 April. Charterhouse has been heavily indebted for some time and poor advertising revenues for its mortgage publications were the last straw. Vitesse acquired one of its main titles, What Investment, more than one year ago.

The publications acquired by Capital have more than 5,000 subscribers in total. Capital intends to launch a new financial services business which it believes that these publications will fit with.

Capital’s other investments include Dateline, Primary Water, Smart Implant and mobile phone technology developer Worldlink.

The shares held steady at 0.31p, valuing the company at £900,000.
