Laser equipment manufacturer Chromogenex says sales and profits have improved significantly in the second half of 2007.

Sales and profits were at record levels in the fourth quarter. Higher UK sales have helped to improve gross margins.

Allan Branch has been appointed chief executive and Peter McGuinness moved to non-executive chairman. He has experience with robotics and technology companies.

Chromogenex manufactures and sells aesthetic laser equipment that can used for medical and cosmetic procedures such as to reduce the effects of aging and treat acne.

The shares rose 0.875p to 5.25p.
