Conroy Diamonds & Gold has discovered a new gold-in-soil anomaly in Armagh.

Shares in Conroy jumped 1.25p to 3.25p each, which values the gold explorer at £3.31m.

The anomaly values at Clay Lake range up to 1,531 parts per billion gold – equivalent to 1.53g/tonne.

The anomaly is named after the Clay Lake nugget containing 28g of gold, which was found in a stream bed in the 1980s.

The anomaly is 7km north east of Conroy’s Clontibret discovery in Monaghan, Ireland. This has an estimated resource of more than 1m ounces of gold.

The Clay Lake anomaly is larger than the Clontibret one.
