Drug discovery services provider Cyprotex is offering drug transporter services from Solvo Biotechnology to its customers.

Drug transporters are a group of proteins that move substances across cellular membranes, both into and out of the cells. They help provide information on the potential drugs’ toxicity and interaction with other drugs. The FDA is introducing a check list for potential drugs and details on drug transport assays need to be included before any clinical trials can commence.

The deal gives Cyprotex more products to offer to its customers.

At 4p a share, Cyprotex is valued at £8.95m.

Interim figures will be published on 25 August.

Singer forecasts a full year profit of £800,000 in 2011, rising to £1.3m in 2012.
