Dru Edmonstone and Philip Dumas have left Seymour Pierce to join Dowgate’s broking subsidiary Ellis Stockbrokers.

The two men will start work in the second half of March after they have returned from holiday. Both used to work for Durlacher and Dru Edmonstone is the founder of the specialist monthly magazine Aim Bulletin. He is also a member of the Aim Advisory Group Board.

Their titles are joint head of corporate broking and they will be based in Dowgate’s City office. They plan to build up the broking team and add to the corporate client list.

Ellis was part of Seymour Pierce before Dowgate acquired it for £4.65m in cash and shares in October 2006. Its main office is in Crawley. Dowgate also owns corporate finance and nominated adviser CFA.

The shares rose 1p to 12.75p, valuing Dowgate at £4.68m.
