IT staff provider FDM Group says that interim trading is in line with expectations even though buying decisions have lengthened and contracts shortened.

This makes it increasingly difficult to predict revenues going forward.

There has been pressure on freelance contractor rates and the number of freelancers used fell from 332 to 326 over the six months to June 2009. The number of the company’s own employees, or ‘Mounties’, increased from 293 to 302.

There has been a small increase in debtor days over the six month period. Overheads are being controlled.

Bid discussions with management are continuing.

At 106.5p a share, values the IT staff provider £24.7m.
