Venture finance provider General Capital says that the lack of available finance for small companies will give it an opportunity to grow.

There is increasing interest from potential borrowers. General Capital is able to be more choosy than before and ask for better security for its loans.

The company has a £40m credit facility from NM Rothschild and Halifax Bank of Scotland. It is looking to add to this facility and there should be news of its progress by the end of March.

Full year results will be inline with expectations and they will be published on 26 March.

The shares rose 4p to 91.5p.
