ID Data is selling the business and assets of its Irish subsidiary CardBASE Technologies Ltd to a subsidiary of the SAFRAN Group of France for €2.25m.

The transaction should be completed by 16 January. CardBASE has non-group liabilities of €650,000 and the rest of the cash will used to meet ongoing financial liabilities of the smart card developer.

ID Data will retain the tax losses of CardBASE on top of its group tax losses.

The administrators of ID Data Ltd are taking longer than expected to sell the business.

ID Data hopes to finalise its figures for the year to March 2008 and six months to September 2008 following the CardBASE disposal.

ID Data shares were suspended at 0.25p each on 25 September 2008. That valued the company at £3.33m.
