Paper maker James Cropper says it will report a profit of £700,000 in the year to March 2009.

Cropper had been expected to make a loss in 2008-09 but its technical fibre products division traded strongly and the paper making business lost less than predicted. There is also a lower than envisaged pension adjustment charge.

The annual results will be reported on 23 June 2009.

At 93.5p a share, up 10.5p on the day, the company is valued at £7.92m.
