England and Wales Cricket Board chairman Giles Clarke has been appointed chairman of shell Kennedy Ventures.

Clarke became chairman of Mercury Recycling and turned it into miner Ironveld. Clarke is also chairman of Amerisur Resources. Nick Harrison is also joining the Kennedy board and he is a director of Ironveld and finance director of Amerisur. This all suggests that Kennedy could become involved in the resources sector.

Kennedy is raising £550,000 from a placing at 1.25p a share. There was £203,000 in the bank at the end of 2013 and there was also £150,000 of secured loan notes.

At 2.75p a share, up 1.13p, Kennedy is valued at £1.95m.
