Lo-Q

Queue management technology developer Lo-Q has won its first theme park trial for technology it acquired last November.

Text-Q is a mobile phone-based reservations system that has been used in other venues but Lo-Q’s connections with the theme park industry have helped Text-Q enter this market.

Drayton Manor Theme Park is going to trial Text-Q between 31 May and 8 June 2008. If this trial is a success, Text-Q could be taken up by the theme park.

The news came too late to affect the share price which was unchanged at 26.5p. Lo-Q says it made more than £500,000 profit in 2007. It has tax losses that equate to an unrecognised deferred tax asset of just over £1m so it won’t be paying much in the way of tax for a little while. That means the shares are trading on around eight times 2007 earnings.
