London Asia Capital

Investment company London Asia Capital has gained listing sponsor status for Alternext.

Aim-quoted London Asia is already a sponsor of Plus-quoted new issues. Alternext is one of Aim’s main European rivals. Its new entrants have at least two years track record and tend to be valued between €20m and €250m.

London Asia says it has three new Plus issues on the blocks and Alternext, which is run by NYSE Euronext, will enable it to float much larger companies in Europe.

The company describes Alternext as an alterative to Aim but, as it will probably gain more fees from sponsoring a float on Alternext than on Aim where it isn’t a sponsor/nominated adviser, it appears it is more likely to opt for Alternext as a home for its clients.

London Asia is currently offering its shareholders the chance to buy shares in some of its quoted investee companies. It is looking to sell the stakes to raise money and is giving its shareholders the first chance to buy them.
