Hargreave Hale and Octopus have both increased their stakes in IT services provider Maxima Holdings following its £2m placing at 20p a share.

Octopus owns 7.67% and Hargreave Hale 10.3%. New executive chairman Ian Smith’s company MXC Capital bought 5m of the 10m shares on offer. He has subsequently bought a further 50,000 shares at 27.68p each and 50,000 at 28.7p each. That takes his stake in Maxima to 14.5%.

At 28p a share, Maxima is valued at £9.87m.
