Marketing services provider Media Square says that trading has been much stronger in the second half than it was in the first half.

The company is benefiting from its cost cutting but not enough for it to be profitable in the year to February 2010. Management had originally expected a small trading profit. Media Square reported an operating loss of £1.53m in the six months to August 2009.

Media Square is trying to sell two profitable businesses. These non-core disposals will lead to a goodwill write-down. Once these businesses have been sold

There will be more cost saving benefits next year but there are no signs of increasing marketing budgets.

At 13p a share, Media Square is valued at £4.7m.
