MicroEmissive Displays

Low power, light emitting polymer microdisplays designer MicroEmissive Displays has almost run out of cash.

MED intends to appoint an administrator and the shares have been suspended at 0.45p each, which values the company at £270,000.

The company appears to have good technology but it is difficult generating revenues when the consumer electronics market is so weak.

MED had cash of £2.1m at the end of June 2008 but three months later it had dwindled to £1.3m and it will all be gone by the end of 2008.

The board has tried to raise more cash but it has failed to find anyone willing to put up sufficient money.

MED’s eyescreen technology could end up being bought by a larger technology company, which will gain all the benefits of the money spent on its development.
